【摘要】:Weightlossfromasealantafterapplicationinabuildingjointcanbedetrimentaltolongtermsealantdurability.Asealantrsquo;servicelifewillbeshortenedifitcontainscomponents,criticaltoitsdurability,thatarevolatilizedbyhighenvironmentaltemperatures.Also,developmentofcracksandchalkinglessensasealantrsquo;servicelife.Thetestdescribedhereinmeasuresweightloss,cracking,andchalking.Theamountofweightlostduringtheheatagingperiodandanycrackingorchalkinghelpspredictprematuresealantfailure.However,asealantdevelopingnocracksorchalking,orlowweightlossinthistest,doesnotnecessarilyensuregooddurability.1.1Thistestmethodcoversalaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheeffectsofheatagingonweightloss,crackingandchalkingofelastomericjointsealants(singleandmulticomponent)foruseinbuildingconstruction.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3ThecommitteehavingjurisdictionforthisspecificationisnotawareofanysimilarISOstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
